Dear Friend,
Next month I will be hosting a Small Business
Contracting Seminar in Williamsport, designed to give our local
business owners the skills and resources they need to compete for federal
contracts. At the March 15th event, business owners will learn how to
register their businesses with appropriate agencies, search for bidding opportunities
and see what resources and organizations are available to help guide them
through the process. Information on how to RSVP for this event is at
the end of this newsletter.
Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and
I am committed to doing everything I can to help them thrive. There are
a great deal of government resources available to our small business owners,
and I would like to take this opportunity to highlight some of these
resources for you.
o US
Small Business Administration (SBA): The SBA is a federal agency,
designed to provide Americans with information on how to start, grow, and
maintain their small business. The SBA sponsors numerous loan and grant

o USA.gov:
USA.gov is the US government's official web
portal. The site is designed to be a "one-stop-shop" for
links and information to the federal government's vast network of agencies
and programs. Their "Businesses and Nonprofits" page contains
links to help you find tools to run your business, such as financial
assistance, laws and regulations, tax guides, and business planning.
