Discovery Machine

Technology Futures of North Central Pennsylvania cordially invites you and your colleagues to the open house at Discovery Machine Inc. on Friday morning, April 8th in Williamsport.

  Discovery Machine Open House
Friday, April 8th, 8am - 9am
Former City Hall Building (454 Pine Street)

Discovery Machine utilizes patented methodology and artificial intelligence software to capture the "know-how" from an enterprise's pivotal performers and deploy that tacit knowledge in job aids, training systems and enterprise systems. Through virtual training and simulation environments, non-programmers are able to control automated characters by leveraging subject matter expertise to generate responses through intelligent behaviors. Discovery Machine is an award winning Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) success story and recipient for the distinguished Ben Franklin Innovation Award for 2010.

You'll have the opportunity to observe a unique advancement to artificial intelligence through a showcase of demonstrations.

  • The first demonstration is designed to operate with the Joint Semi-Automated Forces (JSAF) training environment for the Navy. This simulation is for the purpose of training Navy personnel to successfully perform anti-submarine warfare operations that enable human to computer voice commands.
  • The second demonstration is an integration with the Virtual Battlespace 2 (VBS2) simulation. This simulation monitors the brain activity of a trainee using the B-Alert system designed by our partner, Advanced Brain Monitoring. The simulations monitors what a character was seeing in a simulation and compare that knowledge with the collected brain activity data to determine the effect of the simulation on the human being trained.
